Participants in this exhibition are: Liina Blom Camilla Groth Eeva Jokinen Camilla Kropp Nathalie Lahdenmäki Viktoria Pettersson Laura Pokela Tanja Sipilä and Liisa Valo Kirsti Taiviola Tommi Terästö Mirjami Rissanen Sami Ruotsalainen Design Migration is an association promoting Finnish designers in events and exhibitions. For "Views on Clay" we gathered a group of people to work with the clay material. Some of the designers and artists work professionally with clay and others in other material, yet each one was to show their personal view on clay. The results of the processes are presented in this exhibition, which shows an interesting and perhaps surprising mix of approaches to clay today. It renews many aspects of the material and widens the perception of its use area, without neglecting skill and deep material knowledge. "Views on clay” was our 10+ years anniversary exhibition in the Helsinki Design Museum during the Design Capital year 2012 in Helsinki. Our events and exhibitions (about 13 all together) have migrated across Europe from Helsinki to Milan and from Lappeenranta to Istanbul, creating platforms for networking and dialogue between designers, users, producers and retailers. For the designers our happenings have offered opportunities for exposing their work. Visibility at local and international design scenes has resulted as fruitful contacts and working opportunities with the industry and recognition as an association. During the years several works have found their way into production besides reaching the general public. Links: https://www.facebook.com/designmigration http://designmarch.is/
